Meet Joyce M. Young, the Artist.

Joyce began demonstrating her artistic talent at a very early age.  Over the years she has constantly studied to further develop and hone her skills, working in varied mediums such as charcoal, acrylics, oils and, her favorite, pastel pencils.  Much of her early work was of colorful Fall foliage landscapes done in vibrant oils; however, her love for children and animals has focused her creativity on young children and pet portraits mainly executed in pastel pencils.  Her reputation for realism and detail has resulted in a huge demand for her work so that now her "personalized" artwork hangs in many homes in Richmond, Virginia, as well as North Carolina, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Texas, Louisiana and Illinois.

In 2004, Joyce was commissioned by a national charitable organization to produce an original work to be reproduced as a Christmas card for their annual campaign.  This recognition helped to further her clientel.  She is involved in various non-profit organizations and donates her time and talent to help further their financial goals.

A long time resident of Lake Lure, North Carolina, Joyce currently resides in Powhatan, Virginia with her husband Buddy and her two cats; Precious and Pookie.
